  • IN 2013, OVER 177,000 PEOPLE DIED IN POLAND FOR CARDIOLOGICAL REASONS, WHICH ACCOUNTED FOR 45.8% OF ALL DEATHS.
  • CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE MORE OFTEN AFFECTS WOMEN, and mortality due to these diseases is definitely higher than among men. In 2013, 95,000 people died as a result of CVD causes. Women, which accounted for 51% of all their deaths. In men, CVD caused death in 41%. (others - other reasons)
  • Among the diseases of the circulatory system, the cause of the largest number of deaths - just like in whole Europe - is ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE, WHICH IN 2013 WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR 23% OF CARDIOLOGICAL DEATHS (41 thousand of deaths), including a heart attack constituted nearly 9% of deaths due to CVD (15,000 deaths).
  • MORTALITY DUE TO THESE CAUSES IS GREATER IN CITIES and concerns almost every fourth death case due to cardiological reasons (in rural areas every fifth).
  • ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE IS THE BASIC CARDIOLOGICAL CAUSE OF DEATHS (among men and women), in 2013 over 22 thousand died from this disease - it accounted for approx. 27% of deaths due to CVD in men, and 20% in women.
  • The second significant cause of death in the circulatory system is CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE, that in 2013 affected more than 18% of cardiological deaths in Poland. The percentage of deaths from cardiovascular disease in the total number of deaths 14 (almost 33 thousand cases). These diseases were more often the cause of deaths of women - in 2013 they accounted for 20% of deaths in the area of CVD, and among men they were less frequently - 17%.

  • DISEASES OF THE ARTERIES, arterioles and capillaries, atherosclerosis, aneurysm and dissecting aneurysm of the main artery, embolism and arterial thrombus, capillary disease
  • DISEASES OF THE VEINS, lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes: varicose veins of the lower limbs, anal hemorrhages, esophageal varices
  • ... DIABETES - angiopathy

The process of destroying
blood vessels in diabetes

Makroangiopathy – a medical term used to identify changes in large and medium-sized blood vessels in people with diabetes.
The process of vascular damage is ASSOCIATED WITH THE COEXISTENCE OF CHRONIC HYPERGLYCAEMIA, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, oxidative stress, diabetic thrombophilia, and chronic inflammation.

CLINICAL FORMS OF MACROANGIOPATHY: ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE, MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION, STROKE, ATHEROSCLEROSIS OF THE LOWER LIMBS.

Microangiopathy – DESTRUCTIVE CHANGES occurring in the course of diabetes in blood vessels less than 100 nm in diameter (capillaries, small arteries and veins). The vascular damage process is associated with EXCESSIVE ACCUMULATION OF POLYSACCHARINS IN VASCULAR TISSUE, FORMATION OF ADVANCED GLYCATION PRODUCTS, ACTIVATION OF PROTEIN KINASE C, AND OXIDATIVE STRESS.

Clinical forms of microangiopathy:
- diabetic retinopathy,
- diabetic nephropathy,
- diabetic neuropathy, including diabetic foot.

Arteries

the walls of the arteries consist of layers of variously developed layers::

1. The inner layer or inner membrane (Latin: TUNICA INTIMA) - formed by endothelial cells and loose connective tissue beneath them, which may contain smooth muscle cells and few fibroblasts; usually the thinnest; n the inner elastic membrane (Latin: Diaphragm elastica interna) - made of elastic fibers; classified as an internal layer

2. Middle layer or MEDIAN MEMBRANE (Latin: Tunica media) - formed by circulating smooth muscle cells, fibers or elastic plaques and collagen fibers;

3. External elastic membrane (Latin: Membrana elastica externa); outer layer, adventitia or outer membrane (Latin: Tunica adventitia or tunica externa) - made of collagen fibers that attach the wall of the vessel to the surrounding flaccid tissue; it may also contain elastic fibers, connective tissue cells (fibroblasts, macrophages, mast cells), smooth muscle cells and vasomotor nerve fibers (usually do not penetrate into the middle layer); within the advent of large vessels there are also so-called VESSEL VESSELS (Latin: Vasa vasorum), which can also branch out in the outer 1/3 to 2/3 of the middle layer thickness.

Opti Cardin® It’s a dietary supplement, that includes grapes extract, hawthorn, pine bark, and resveratrol. Opti Cardio® strengthens the cardiovascular system, improves the heart and is dedicated for everyone, and especially for people with the highest risk of cardiovascular disease.

Ingredients:

Opti Cardin®

(proprietary formula from Citrus Sinensis extract) (DER 10-12:1)

Bitter orange extract

Bitter orange extract ENSURES MAINTENANCE OF ARTERIAL ELASTICITY, helps to protect blood vessels against inflammation and supports the proper functioning of the heart. It is used to treat ailments such as angina, hypertension, anxiety, depression and stress, cold, obesity, menstrual disorders. Use: Hypertension, obesity, stress, anxiety, cold

Hawthorn fruit extract (Crataegus oxycantha L.) (DER 10:1)

ITS SALUTARY ACTION IS BASED ON THE PENETRATION OF MEDICINAL SUBSTANCES (MAINLY FLAVONOIDS) INTO THE CORONARY VESSELS OF THE HEART.

Hawthorn fruit extract is a source of vitamins C and B, mineral salts and pectins, lowers blood pressure, increases the strength of heart contractions, slows down their frequency, so that it works more efficiently. Water-alcoholic hawthorn extracts act INOTROPICALLY POSITIVE on the myocardium. THEY DILATE CORONARY VESSELS, improve coronary circulation, act ANTI-ARRHYTHMIC, CARDIOPROTECTIVE (protective against myocardium) and antiatherosclerotic. They prolong the refraction of ventricular muscles. They seal and strengthen blood vessels. They lower blood pressure (hypotensive effect). The Hawthorn is a typical heart medicine. Indications: ANGINA PECTORIS, CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA, CORONARY HEART DISEASE, HYPERTENSION, ATHEROSCLEROSIS, PERIPHERAL AND CEREBRAL CIRCULATORY DISORDERS, HYPERLIPIDEMIA,

Red grapes peel extract (Vitis vininfera L) (DER 10:1)

Grape fruit extract thanks to flavonoids helps regulate lipid metabolism and increases HDL cholesterol. (Atherosclerosis, strokes and heart attack). The grape also has antioxidant properties, contains potassium and vitamins C, K and A. They have a clearly anti-inflammatory effect, astringent, stimulate wound healing, accelerate the regeneration of epithelial tissue. In addition, diuretic, anti-exudative, inhibiting the release of endogenous pro-inflammatory substances. Anticoagulant. Stabilising structure of cell and endothelial membranes. Preventing congestion, thrombosis and atherosclerosis. Inhibitory reactions of immunological autoimmunity; antihistamines. Protective against liver parenchyma, heart and kidneys. Indications: disorders of the cerebral and peripheral circulation, coronary heart disease, hypertension, inflammation of the veins, blood stasis in the veins, retinitis and choroid inflammation.

Hibiscus flowers extract (Hibiscus Sabdariffa Linn) (DER 10:1)

Hibiscus extracts have IMMUNOSTIMULATORY, refreshing, ESTROGENIC, antioxidant, regulative effects on bowel movements (slightly laxative), hypotensive (lowering blood pressure), antipyretic and antiatherosclerosis. Increases diuresis. HIBISCUS STIMULATES DIGESTION, increasing the secretion of digestive juices. It has ingredients to protect the liver parenchyma. At higher doses, it increases bile secretion. It has a relaxant effect on the uterine muscle. Spasmolytic, antibacterial, choleretic, anti-atherosclerotic, diuretic, anthelmintic, hypotensive effects.   Indications: Hypertension, atherosclerosis, constipation, digestive disorders, rhinitis, cold, fever, oliguria, weakness.

Grapes extract (Vitis vinifera L) Resveratrol (DER 100:1)

Resveratrol strengthens the cardiovascular system, inhibits platelet aggregation, which prevents the formation of blood clots. It is used to treat diabetes and weight reduction. Properties: Rich in resveratrol are grapes, mainly their skin. For this reason, red wines obtained from the fermentation of juice together with fruit skins contain more resveratrol than white wines. Resveratrol is a very effective antioxidant and non-toxic fungicide (antifungal agent). Many researchers believe that this relationship is responsible for the so-called a French paradox. Use: coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, inflammation of veins, atherosclerosis, peripheral circulation abnormalities, clots.

Maritime pine bark extract (Pinus pinaster Aiton) (DER 10:1)

Cluster pine (Pinus pinaster) grows naturally in the western part of the mediterranean, east of Italy. It is grown for production purposes. The plant is placed in the red book of endangered species. Properties: antioxidant, antiradical, inhibiting the activity of tissue proteolytic enzymes (elastase and collagenase); ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANTI-EXUDATIVE; STABILIZING THE STRUCTURE OF EPITHELIAL TISSUE AND CELL MEMBRANES; PROTECTIVE DEVICES FOR BLOOD VESSELS AND NEURONS, LIVER CELLS AND KIDNEYS. It lowers the level of glucose, lipids and cholesterol in the blood. It reduces the disease consequences of diabetes. THEY PROTECT THE RETINA AND CHOROID OF THE EYE, IMPROVE CORONARY, PERIPHERAL, CEREBRAL AND OCULAR BLOOD CIRCULATION. They accelerate the regeneration of rhodopsin, so they can improve vision at dusk. Undoubtedly, they favorably work in allergic diseases, inflammatory and degenerative changes of the connective, cartilaginous and epithelial connective tissue. Polyphenolic fractions from plants also act fungistatically and antibacterially. Use: atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, diabetes, venous insufficiency venous insufficiency - varicose veins, hypertension
